Isle Of Wight DVD to be released early 2009
November 2008: The latest issue of Goldmine Magazine reports that the Moodies' 1970 Isle Of Wight DVD will be released early in 2009, not before Christmas as originally stated.

Hard Rock Park to go on auction block
November 2008: The Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach, which filed for bankruptcy in September, is scheduled to go on the auction block December 15th. There are rumors that several potential buyers are interested in the property, but whether they will reopen the park or simply sell the attractions and build something new is unknown. It's also not clear what will happen to the Moody Blues memorabilia that was donated for the Nights In White Satin ride.

Three albums remastered and reissued
In Justin's last newsletter, he mentioned remastering Octave, The Present and Long Distance Voyager. Those three classic albums were reissued in the UK on November 10th. Visit the HMV website to get your copies!

The Moody Blues at the Isle of Wight, 1970
August 2008: The first reviews are in on the Moodies' new Isle of Wight CD. A DVD of the band's entire performance is due out next year. The Moody Blues performed at the third Isle of Wight festival in 1970, along with such artists as Joni Mitchell and Jimi Hendrix. "Nights In White Satin" was featured in Message To Love, the official Isle of Wight documentary. Apart from this and an audio bootleg, this performance has never been released. Hard Rock Park files for bankruptcy
Myrtle Beach, September 2008: Hard Rock Park has announced that they are closing for the season and filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. They plan to reorganize and will hopefully reopen in 2009. In June, the Moodies inaugurated the Nights In White Satin dark ride and played at the Grand Opening ceremonies.

Justin will be the special guest of Mario Frangoulis on September 19th at the Royal Albert Hall in London. More information is available at Mario's MSN Group.

WOTW news
September 2008: Jeff Wayne's live War of the Worlds tour will make a stop at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on June 30, 2009. The Ticketmaster presale will begin September 13 at 10:00 a.m. Dutch time. The regular sale will begin September 14. Click here to access Ticketmaster Holland. The official site has also created a page especially for 2009 tour information and tickets. The tour is now scheduled to begin in Dublin instead of Aberdeen. Core Seven Reissues
The band's first seven albums were reissued on July 15th, complete with the bonus tracks that were included on their recent SACD Special Editions. Click here to read a nice blog review.

New DVD release
The reviews are in on the new Blu-Ray version of Lovely To See You, the band's 2005 concert video filmed at the Greek Theatre.

May 2008: On May 3, Justin and several other international stars joined Mario onstage at the Athens Arena for a night of beautiful music. Plans are under way to release the concert on DVD.

"War of the Worlds" celebrates 30 years
June 9, 2008: WOTW was released on June 9, 1978. To mark the occasion, Jeff Wayne has announced that the 2009 UK tour will begin June 10th in Aberdeen. Visit the official site to read more about the tour and Jeff's plans to update the site.

Hard Rock Park gig a success
June 2008, Myrtle Beach, SC: The Moodies inaugurated their new NIWS ride by placing their hands in cement and burning the ceremonial ribbon with large candles. By all accounts, the evening concert with the Long Bay Symphony was excellent, as always. Moodies in space
June 1, 2008: The crew of the space shuttle Discovery awoke to the sounds of "Your Wildest Dreams" on Sunday. This isn't the first time a Moodies song has been chosen for the honor.

Moodies to perform at Hard Rock Park
Myrtle Beach, SC: The Moody Blues will perform on June 3, 2008 during the Grand Opening Ceremonies at the new Hard Rock Park. A dark ride entitled Nights in White Satin - The Trip has been dedicated to the group.
